These Terms govern your use of Webcam Security (the “App”), developed by Chris Flores — Ingeniería.dev (“we”). By installing or using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The App turns an Android phone or an iPhone into a motion-triggered camera: it detects movement on the device, can sound a siren, saves photos and short videos without audio, and can send them to a Telegram bot you configure. It is available on Google Play for Android and on the App Store for iPhone. On iPhone, iOS only allows the camera while the App is open in the foreground, so surveillance stops if the App is closed or moved to the background.
The App is a one-time paid download: US$19.99, or the equivalent local price shown by Google Play or the App Store in your country (taxes may apply and are displayed before you pay). There are no subscriptions, In-App Purchases or ads. Each store sells its own version: buying on one platform does not unlock the App on the other.
Android: the purchase is processed by Google Play under the Google Play Terms of Service and is linked to the Google account you used, so you can install the App on your other Android devices signed in with that account at no additional cost.
iPhone: the purchase is processed by Apple under the App Store's terms and is linked to your Apple Account, so you can download the App again on your other iPhones signed in with that account at no additional cost. Apple, not us, handles the payment.
Android: within the first 48 hours after purchase you can request a refund directly from Google Play (Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history). After 48 hours, email us at [email protected] with your Google Play order number; we review each request in good faith and in accordance with applicable consumer law. A refund removes the App from your device, and Google Play allows only one refund per app.
iPhone: refunds for App Store purchases are decided by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Nothing in these Terms limits the rights consumer law grants you in your country.
Upon purchase, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Android devices or iPhones you own or control, subject to these Terms. On Android, the license is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. On iPhone, the license is also subject to Apple's Standard EULA (Licensed Application End User License Agreement); if these Terms and the Standard EULA conflict for the iPhone version, the Standard EULA prevails. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, redistribute or resell the App, except where the law expressly allows it.
You are solely responsible for how and where you use the App. In particular, you agree to:
On Android, the App always shows a persistent notification while the camera is active. On iPhone, iOS shows its green camera indicator the whole time the camera is in use; the optional stealth mode only darkens the screen and never hides the camera from the system. Attempting to hide that the camera is in use violates these Terms.
The App is a personal tool, not a certified alarm system or monitoring service. It does not contact the police, emergency services or any monitoring center. Detection depends on lighting, camera position, battery, network, storage and the phone's operating system, which may close background apps (Android) or stop the camera as soon as the App leaves the foreground (iPhone). We do not guarantee that every intrusion will be detected, recorded or delivered. Do not rely on the App as your only means of protecting people or property.
Sending alerts uses Telegram, a third-party service not operated by us. Your use of Telegram is governed by Telegram's Terms of Service. You create and control your own bot and token; keep the token secret. We have no access to your bot or messages and are not responsible for Telegram's availability.
You are responsible for choosing a PIN others cannot guess and for protecting the phone with a screen lock. Anyone with physical access to an unlocked phone and its PIN can disarm surveillance and delete the evidence stored on it.
The siren can be loud. Use it responsibly and in accordance with local noise regulations. You can disable it in Settings.
The App automatically deletes the oldest evidence to keep storage under control (see the Privacy Policy). If you need to preserve evidence, forward or download it from Telegram or copy it before it is rotated out.
How the App handles data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
We may update the App to fix problems, adapt to new Android or iOS versions or change features. Some updates may require you to re-enable permissions or resume surveillance.
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for losses arising from theft, intrusion, property damage, missed detections, undelivered alerts, loss of evidence, or unlawful use of the App by you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
These Terms are between you and us, not Google or Apple. Neither Google nor Apple has any obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App, and neither is responsible for claims relating to it (including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or intellectual property claims). Your use of Google Play and the App Store is governed by their own terms. For the iPhone version, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and of the Standard EULA, and may enforce them against you.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Your license ends automatically if you breach these Terms, in particular section 4.
We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continued use after a change means you accept it.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Mexico City, unless the consumer law of your country grants you a different forum.
