Important — informational guide, not medical advice Mamá Primeriza provides general educational information and does not replace consultation, diagnosis, or treatment by a qualified health professional. If anything about your pregnancy or your baby worries you, contact your doctor or midwife. In an emergency, call your local emergency services. This support page cannot answer medical questions — please do not email health questions expecting clinical advice, because we cannot give it.

How to use Mamá Primeriza

Set your due date so the guide follows your week
  1. Open the Profile tab
  2. Tap Estimated due date
  3. Pick the date your doctor or midwife gave you
  4. Save

From then on, the guide opens on the week you're in and moves forward with you. If you don't know your due date yet, skip it — the App works perfectly as a browsable guide without it.

Switch to the baby's age after birth
  1. Open the Profile tab
  2. Enter the baby's date of birth (and name, if you'd like)
  3. Save

The guide stops following pregnancy weeks and starts following the baby's age, showing the content for the first year instead.

Use it without entering anything about yourself

You can. Every field in the profile is optional, and the App never blocks content behind them. Skip the whole setup and you get the complete guide, organized by topic instead of by your week. You can add your dates later, or never.

Save a card to favorites
  1. Open any guidance card
  2. Tap the heart
  3. Find it again from the Favorites section

Favorites store only a reference to the card, not a copy of the text — so if the wording is corrected or a translation improves in a later update, your saved card updates with it.

Check the source behind a card

Every card names the health organization its content is based on — for example the World Health Organization, the CDC, ACOG, the American Academy of Pediatrics, Mexico's Secretaría de Salud, or Brazil's Ministério da Saúde.

Tap the citation and iOS opens that organization's official page in Safari so you can read the original. That's the only moment the App hands you off to the internet, and only because you asked it to.

Prepare questions for your next appointment
  1. Open the Questions section
  2. Browse the suggested questions for your stage
  3. Tap one to add your own note next to it
  4. Mark it as asked once you've discussed it with your doctor

It's a memory aid for the consultation — the things you always remember in the car on the way home. It is not a medical record, and no health professional reviews it.

Use the checklists

Each stage has a checklist of practical things to arrange. Tap an item to tick it off; tap again to untick. Only ticked items are stored, so an untouched checklist takes up nothing.

Find the warning signs and the emergency number

The Warning signs section lists, in plain language, the symptoms that mean you should contact your doctor now rather than wait. Each entry cites its source.

The emergency number for your country is shown alongside. Tapping it hands the number to the Phone app so you can confirm and place the call — the App never dials by itself. Please confirm that the number matches the one in force where you are.

Delete all your data
  1. Open the Settings tab
  2. Tap Delete all my data
  3. Confirm

This permanently erases your profile, favorites, ticked checklists, and appointment notes from your iPhone. It cannot be undone, and there is no copy anywhere else — we never had one. Uninstalling the App has the same effect.

Change the language

Mamá Primeriza is available in English, Español, and Português (Brasil). Change it from the Settings tab. The change applies immediately and persists across sessions.

Frequently asked questions

Do you store my data on any server?

No. Mamá Primeriza has no backend, no cloud sync, no iCloud, and no analytics. In fact the App contains no networking code at all, so there is no mechanism by which your name, your dates, your notes, or anything else could be sent anywhere. Everything stays in the App's private storage on your iPhone. See our Privacy Policy.

Why does the App ask for my name and my due date?

Only to personalize the guide — to greet you and to show the content matching your current week. All of it is optional, it never leaves the device, and you can erase it in one tap from Settings. If you'd rather not enter anything, skip it: the App works fully without it.

Can Mamá Primeriza tell me if something is wrong with my baby?

No. The App provides general educational information and cannot examine, diagnose, or assess you or your baby. It has no way to know your history or your situation. If you notice a warning sign, or if anything concerns you, contact your doctor or midwife. In an emergency, call your local emergency services. Never delay professional care because of something you read in the App.

Where does the information come from?

From publicly available material published by official health organizations: the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Mexico's Secretaría de Salud, and Brazil's Ministério da Saúde, among others. Every card names its source and links to the original so you can verify it yourself.

The App says one thing and my doctor says another. Who do I follow?

Your doctor. Always. The App shows general guidance that cannot account for your history, your pregnancy, your medications, or your baby's particular situation. Official recommendations also differ between countries and are revised over time. The professional caring for you knows your case; the App does not.

Does it work without internet?

Yes, completely. The whole content catalog ships inside the App, so everything works in airplane mode, in a hospital hallway, or anywhere with no signal. The only feature that needs a connection is opening a source link in Safari, because that page lives on the organization's website.

Do I have to pay anything?

No. Mamá Primeriza is free, with no In-App Purchases, no subscription, no ads, and no paywall. Nothing is locked. If the App helps you and you want to support the work, email [email protected] — that's enough.

Is my information shared with advertisers or insurers?

Never. There are no ads, no advertising SDKs, no trackers, and no third-party analytics in the App. We do not sell, rent, or share information with anyone — and because nothing is transmitted, there is nothing to share in the first place. The App's App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected".

Will my notes survive if I change iPhone?

They live only on the device where you wrote them, inside the App's private storage. A standard encrypted device backup restored onto a new iPhone brings the App's data with it. If you reset the phone without a backup, or uninstall the App, the notes are gone — we hold no copy and cannot recover them.

Which devices are supported?

Any iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Mamá Primeriza is an iPhone app; there is no iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch version.

Is the emergency number correct for my country?

The App shows the emergency number for the country matching your selected region, but numbers change and coverage varies locally. Please confirm the correct number where you live and save it in your contacts. The number is shown for convenience; the App never places a call by itself.

I found content that looks outdated or wrong. What do I do?

Please tell us — this is the most valuable email we can receive. Write to [email protected] with the card's title and, if you have it, the link to the updated official source. Corrections ship in the next App update.

How do I report a bug?

Email [email protected] and include:

Please don't include personal health details in the email — we don't need them to fix a bug.

Can I suggest a new feature or topic?

Yes — we love hearing ideas, especially from mothers who found a gap the guide didn't cover. Email [email protected] with your proposal. We review every suggestion.
