One-line summary Inspirational Quotes does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your favorite quotes and reading history stay on your device.

1. Who we are

Inspirational Quotes (hereinafter, "the App") is developed and operated by Ingeniería.dev, led by Chris Flores (hereinafter, "we", "the Developer").

2. What data we collect

None. Inspirational Quotes was built with privacy by default. The App:

Does not require registration or an account
Does not ask for your email, name, phone number, or any personally identifiable information
Does not access your contacts, camera, photos, location, calendar, or health data
Does not include any third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash reporting
Does not send telemetry or usage metrics to any server we control
Does not make network requests except to fetch new quotes from the public quotes API

3. What is stored on your device

The App stores locally (using SwiftData and UserDefaults) only what's needed to show your favorites and settings:

This data is never sent to the Developer's servers. If you delete the App, all of this information is removed with it.

4. How we fetch quotes

The App makes HTTPS requests to a public quotes backend API to display fresh motivational phrases. These requests:

Are read-only (no data sent about you)
Do not include your device identifier, IP address, or user agent
Contain only the API request itself (fetching the next batch of quotes)
Return only quote data (text, author, category)

The API backend is operated by Ingeniería.dev and maintains no logs of which users requested which quotes.

5. Notifications

Inspirational Quotes can send local notifications only — meaning notifications generated and displayed on your device by iOS, not from a remote server. You can enable or disable notifications in Settings. The App does not use push notification services (APNs).

6. System permissions

Inspirational Quotes requests only the permissions it actually needs:

Notifications — optional. Used only for local daily reminders. No remote notifications from any server.

The App does not request access to: microphone, location, camera, contacts, calendar, reminders, photos, media library, Bluetooth, local network, health data, or HealthKit.

7. Marketing and advertising

The App displays no ads. We do not collect data for remarketing, profiling, segmentation, behavioral analysis, or any promotional purpose. We do not participate in ad networks, and we do not sell information to third parties.

8. Minors

The App is rated 4+. Because the App requires no registration and collects no data, it complies with COPPA (US), LGPD Infantil (Brazil), and GDPR-K (EU) by design.

9. User rights (GDPR, CCPA, LFPDPPP, LGPD)

Even though we collect no data, the following rights are guaranteed by design:

Right to access: All your data (favorites) lives on your device. You can see it in the App.
Right to deletion: Uninstall the App, and all data is gone. Or delete favorites one by one inside the App.
Right to portability: Your favorites are stored in open format (SwiftData, exportable).
Right to object: Turn off notifications or stop using the App at any time.
No profiling or automated decision-making: We do not use your data for any automated decisions.

10. Data retention

Your favorites and preferences persist until you delete them or uninstall the App. We do not archive, back up, or retain any of your data on our servers.

11. International compliance

Because Inspirational Quotes collects zero personal data, it is compliant by default with:

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
