Breadcrumb exists because a forest has no street names, and the moment you need help is the moment you have no bars.

Parks and woodland are full of unmarked paths that all look the same on the way back. You turn off the main track to look at something, then turn again, and twenty minutes later every direction looks equally plausible. The usual answer — open a maps app — fails exactly there: no cell coverage, no downloaded tiles, and a blue dot floating on a blank grey rectangle that tells you where you are but not how you got there.

So I built the opposite of a map. Breadcrumb does not need to know the terrain; it only needs to remember your path. It records where you actually walked and then replays it backwards, one arrow at a time. GPS works without internet — the satellites broadcast and your phone just listens — so the whole thing keeps running in airplane mode, deep in a valley, with no signal at all.
