Stream Deck Pro lives in the menu bar and has no Dock icon. There are three ways to open your deck:

• The glowing handle — rest the pointer on the handle at the edge of your screen. Drag the handle to move it to the other side or to another display.
• The menu bar — click the Stream Deck Pro icon. Right-click it for more options: Open deck, Command Palette, Edit deck, Import and Export, and Quit.
• A keyboard shortcut — press ⌃⌥D (Control-Option-D) from any app. You can change it in Settings → Shortcuts.

Use the pin on the deck to keep it open while you work.

1. Open the editor: right-click the menu bar icon and choose Edit deck… (⌘,), or click the sliders button on the deck
2. Add a button to the page you want, or pick one ready-made from the Library (apps, websites, and macOS tricks)
3. Give it a name and choose what it does in its steps
4. Optional: pick an icon, a color, or your own image
5. Changes are saved as you make them — press the button on the deck to try it

Faster still: drag an app, a file, or a link from Finder or your browser and drop it onto the deck to create a button for it.

• Open app, Open website, Open file or folder — launch an app, open a website in your default browser, or open a file or folder.
• Run Shortcut — run one of your Shortcuts from the Shortcuts app.
• Run shell script and Run AppleScript — run your own script. Requires scripts to be turned on (see below).
• Copy text — put a piece of text on the clipboard.
• Volume and Media control — change the volume, mute, or control playback.
• Open System Settings — jump to a System Settings panel.
• Switch page and Wait — move to another page or pause between steps.

One button can chain several steps, which run in order when you press it.

macOS only lets a Mac App Store app run scripts from its own Application Scripts folder. Stream Deck Pro needs your approval once to install three small helper scripts there:

1. Open Settings from the editor and find the Scripts section
2. Click Enable Scripts…
3. A Finder window opens directly on the right folder (~/Library/Application Scripts/dev.ingenieria.stream-deck-pro/). Without moving to another folder, click Enable Scripts

The helpers only run when you press a button. Your scripts run with your own user permissions, so only run scripts you understand.

The first time a button sends AppleScript or media commands to another app, macOS asks whether Stream Deck Pro may control that app. Click OK. If you declined by mistake:

1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation
2. Find Stream Deck Pro in the list
3. Turn on the app the button needs to control

1. Open the editor and select a page
2. In the page inspector, add the apps that should bring this page up
3. From now on, when one of those apps comes to the front, the deck shows that page

Columns, button size, and labels are also set per page in the page inspector.

Press ⌃⌥K (Control-Option-K) from any app, type part of a button's name, and press Return to run it. You can also give any button its own keyboard shortcut in the editor, in the button's Behavior card. All shortcuts are listed and can be changed in Settings → Shortcuts. They work in every app and need no Accessibility permission.

1. Right-click the menu bar icon and choose Export Deck… to save your pages, buttons, and images as a .sdpdeck file
2. To bring a deck in, choose Import Deck… and pick the file
3. Choose Add as New Pages to keep your current deck, or Replace Everything… to swap it (a copy of your current deck is saved first in the app's backups folder)

Keyboard shortcuts and usage counts stay on your Mac and are not exported. Deck files can contain scripts: only import decks from people you trust, and review imported buttons before pressing them.

1. Right-click the menu bar icon and choose Import from Stream Deck…
2. A Finder window opens on the free app's Data folder — click Import
3. Select the buttons you want and click Import Selected

Your buttons land on a page called "Imported from Stream Deck". Stream Deck Pro only reads the free app's data and never changes it, and running the import again never duplicates a button. Keyboard-shortcut buttons from the free app were retired, so they arrive turned off.

2. Pick English, Español, Português, 日本語, or Deutsch under Language

Stream Deck Pro is a one-time purchase of $9.99 USD (pricing may vary per country according to Apple's App Store price tiers). There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no premium tiers, and no ads. Pay once, keep forever.

If you reinstall Stream Deck Pro on the same Mac or install it on another Mac signed into the same Apple ID, the Mac App Store recognizes the purchase automatically — there is nothing to restore inside the App.

1. Open the Mac App Store
2. Click your name at the bottom-left to see your purchased apps
3. Find Stream Deck Pro and click the download button

If the App Store asks you to pay again, check that you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by the Developer. To request one:

1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
2. Sign in with your Apple ID
3. Choose Request a refund, pick a reason, and select the Stream Deck Pro purchase
4. Submit the request

Your Apple ID payment method is managed entirely through Apple:

Stream Deck Pro supports Family Sharing. If you have Family Sharing set up on your Apple ID, members of your family can install Stream Deck Pro on their own Mac without paying again.

1. Open System Settings → [your name] → Family
2. Make sure Purchase Sharing is turned on
3. Family members can then install Stream Deck Pro from their purchased apps in the Mac App Store

No. Stream Deck Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Nothing auto-renews, nothing gets billed again, and there is nothing to cancel.

Stream Deck Pro is a separate app with its own purchase; the free Stream Deck stays installed and keeps working. Both can run on the same Mac, and you can bring your buttons over to Pro with Import from Stream Deck….

No. Every page, button, image, and setting lives on your Mac only, inside the app's sandbox. Stream Deck Pro has no backend of its own, no account, no analytics, and no crash reporter. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Only on your behalf:

• When you add a web button, to fetch that site's icon (from Google's or DuckDuckGo's public icon services, or the site itself). Only the domain name is sent.
• When the deck opens, to warm up the connection to the sites on your web buttons (a lightweight request to each site's home address, without cookies), so they open faster.
• When you press a button whose action uses the network — a website, or a script you wrote. For example, the "Public IP" trick asks api.ipify.org for your public IP only when pressed.

Yes. Once a day, Stream Deck Pro saves a snapshot of your deck on your Mac and keeps the 10 most recent. An empty deck is never backed up, so it can't push out a good snapshot. For an extra copy you control, use Export Deck… or Time Machine.

Most common cause: scripts are not turned on yet. Check:

1. Open Settings from the editor → Scripts. If it says "Scripts are off", click Enable Scripts… and follow the steps above
2. For AppleScript and media buttons, check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation and make sure the controlled app is turned on for Stream Deck Pro
3. Open the Activity list in the editor to see the script's output or error message

If the site doesn't expose an icon, or your network blocks the request, the button keeps its symbol. You can always pick your own image or a symbol instead.

Another app or macOS may already be using that key combination. Open Settings → Shortcuts and record a different one — Stream Deck Pro warns you when a combination is taken. Shortcuts must include ⌘, ⌃, or ⌥.

Any Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with Apple Silicon or Intel. On macOS 26 the deck uses Liquid Glass; on earlier versions it uses the native macOS translucent material.

Stream Deck Pro is a macOS-only app for now.
