Important — wellness app only Snore Pro is not a medical device and does not diagnose sleep apnea or any other condition. If you or your partner notice loud snoring, gasping, or witnessed pauses during sleep, please consult a licensed sleep specialist.

How to use Snore Pro

Record a full night
  1. Plug your iPhone into its charger — recording the whole night drains the battery quickly
  2. Place the phone on the nightstand or on the bed, within about one meter of your head
  3. Open Snore Pro and go to the Record tab
  4. Hold the large button until the recording starts
  5. Lock your phone and go to sleep. The Dynamic Island will show a subtle indicator confirming the app is listening
  6. In the morning, tap the central indicator to stop the recording
  7. Swipe to Metrics or Recordings to see your analysis
Read your Snore Pro Score

The score is a number from 0 to 100 built from three signals: intensity of your loudest episodes, total snoring time, and frequency of events across the night.

Track the number across multiple nights — a single recording is not enough to draw conclusions. Patterns matter more than any individual score.

Read the waveform colors

Each bar in the waveform represents a short time window of the night:

Tap any bar to jump to that moment. Pinch to zoom in on a specific region and hear exactly what happened.

Understand the breathing stability indicator

When Snore Pro detects several loud episodes in a row, it measures the gaps of silence between them. Gaps between 8 and 45 seconds that fall between two loud episodes are flagged as "suspicious pauses." These are useful context to share with a sleep specialist.

This is a heuristic signal based on the audio pattern, not a diagnosis of sleep apnea. Many healthy people show occasional pauses; many people with apnea show none on a given night. Use this as one data point among many in a conversation with a clinician.

Play back and hear a specific peak
  1. Open the Recordings list
  2. Tap any recording to open Playback
  3. The waveform shows the whole night. Tap any bar to jump to that moment and hear it
  4. Pinch to zoom in for more detail; double-tap to reset the zoom
Delete a recording
  1. Open the Recordings list
  2. Swipe left on the recording you want to delete
  3. Tap Delete

Deleting a recording removes both the audio file and its analysis from your device permanently. This cannot be undone.

Set the daily bedtime reminder
  1. Open the Settings tab
  2. Enable Daily Reminder
  3. Pick the hour and minute you usually go to bed
  4. Grant notification permission if prompted

The reminder is a local notification — it does not require any server or account, and the App does not send push notifications from the internet.

Change the language

Snore Pro is available in English, Español, and Português (Brasil). Change it from the Settings tab. The change applies immediately and persists across sessions.

Add the Home Screen widget
  1. Long-press an empty space on your iOS Home Screen
  2. Tap the + button in the top-left corner
  3. Search for Snore Pro
  4. Choose a size and add the widget

The widget displays your most recent night's score and streak.

Frequently asked questions

Does Snore Pro upload my audio to the cloud?

Never. Every recording and every analysis stays on your iPhone. Snore Pro has no backend, no cloud sync, and no network requests. Audio literally cannot leave your device because the App has no way to send it. See our Privacy Policy.

Why does recording all night drain my battery so much?

To record the whole night, the microphone must stay active while the screen is off. iOS allows this through the audio background mode, but it keeps the chip that handles audio powered on for 6–8 hours. That's why Snore Pro always recommends plugging in the charger before starting a session. This is unavoidable — any app that records all night has the same constraint.

Can Snore Pro diagnose sleep apnea?

No. Snore Pro is a consumer wellness app and not a medical device. A clinical diagnosis of sleep apnea requires a polysomnography or a home sleep test validated by a sleep medicine physician. Snore Pro can help you notice patterns worth discussing with a specialist, but it cannot replace a medical evaluation. If you suspect sleep apnea, please see a doctor.

How accurate is the snore detection?

Snore Pro uses Apple's Sound Classification framework and custom heuristics to distinguish snoring from silence, breathing, fans, traffic, and typical bedroom noise. Accuracy depends on microphone distance, ambient noise level, and the loudness of your snoring. In a typical bedroom with the phone within one meter of your head, detection is reliable for audible snores. Very quiet snores or heavily obstructed airways may be under-counted.

What happens if I don't charge my phone?

The recording will continue until the battery dies, then stop. Any audio captured before the battery died is saved normally and can be analyzed. To avoid this, plug the charger in before starting.

Does Snore Pro work on iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch?

Currently iPhone only. iPad and Mac versions are on the roadmap if there is demand.

Which iPhones are supported?

Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Dynamic Island features require an iPhone 14 Pro or newer.

Do I have to pay anything?

No. Snore Pro is free, with no In-App Purchases, no subscription, no ads, and no paywall. If you enjoy the App and want to support the work, email christian@irack.mx — that's enough.

Is there a way to export my data?

Not yet in v1.0. Because Snore Pro is local-only, exporting is on the roadmap as a share-sheet option for the waveform image and the audio file. If you need this sooner, please email the team.

Can I record my partner without telling them?

Please don't. The App records the ambient sound of the room, which includes everyone in it. Laws around recording another person's voice vary by country and state, and some jurisdictions require the consent of everyone recorded. You are responsible for complying with the law where you live. Talk to your partner first — most of the time they want to know, too.

How do I report a bug?

Email christian@irack.mx and include:

Can I suggest a new feature?

Yes — we love hearing ideas. Email christian@irack.mx with your proposal. We review every suggestion.
