Terms of Use

End User License Agreement · Nomad Key · Last updated: May 11, 2026 · Version 1.0

Before you continue By downloading, installing, or using Nomad Key, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. The binding agreement governing your license is Apple's Standard EULA; this page provides additional context and disclaimers specific to Nomad Key.

1. Parties

This agreement is entered into between you (the end user) and Ingeniería.dev, operated by Chris Flores, with its registered address at Av. Javier Barros Sierra 495, Santa Fe Lomas de Santa Fe Zedec Santa Fé, Álvaro Obregón 01219, Mexico City, CDMX, Mexico. Contact: christian@irack.mx.

2. App description

Nomad Key is an iOS application that lets you store a list of short-term stays (typically rentals booked through any short-term lodging platform), each with an alias, an address, and up to two access codes that your host shared with you (for example, a building door code and a lockbox code). One stay can be marked as "active" at a time; that stay's information is displayed by an optional Home Screen widget. The App is fully offline, stores all data locally, and requires no account or sign-in.

Nomad Key is, fundamentally, a private digital notepad for codes you already received from third parties (your hosts). It is not a smart-lock product, not an access-control system, and not connected to any physical door, lockbox, or building.

3. License

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Nomad Key on iOS devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and to Apple's Standard EULA. The Apple Standard EULA is the primary, binding license agreement; in case of conflict between any provision of this page and the Apple Standard EULA, the Apple Standard EULA prevails to the extent required by App Store Review Guideline 3.1.2(a).

3.1 Restrictions

4. Pricing

Nomad Key is free. The App contains no In-App Purchases, no subscriptions, no advertising, and no paid content. There is nothing to buy, nothing to cancel, and nothing to restore.

5. Accounts and authentication

Nomad Key does not require you to create an account or sign up. The App works immediately after installation without any login, email, or personal identifier. There is no "forgot password" flow because there is no password.

6. User data

See our Privacy Policy. In short: all your stays, addresses, and access codes live on your device; we do not collect or transmit personal information; and the only operation that may leave your device is an on-demand geocoding call to Apple's CLGeocoder when you tap "Find on map".

7. Security disclaimer — important

Nomad Key is a local notepad for your codes, not a security product. The App stores the codes your host gave you so you can find them quickly. It does not control the physical lock, the door, the lockbox, or the building. It does not authenticate, verify, or grant access. It does not communicate with any smart lock or building access system.

You are responsible for:

The Developer is not responsible for lost data caused by uninstalling the App, restoring the device, losing the device, or any other event that wipes local storage.

8. No physical access guarantee

If you arrive at a stay and the code does not work, that is between you and your host or the booking platform. Nomad Key only displays the string of digits you typed in earlier. The App makes no representation that any stored code is currently valid, has not been changed by the host, or will continue to work in the future. Verify your codes with your host before you need them.

9. Map and geocoding

The "Find on map" feature uses Apple MapKit and CLGeocoder to convert the address you typed into a map pin. The accuracy of the pin depends on Apple's geocoding service and on the quality of the address string you typed; the App does not verify, audit, or correct results. Do not rely on the map pin for navigation in safety-critical situations.

10. Intellectual property

Nomad Key, its code, design, interface, text, and brand are the property of Ingeniería.dev and are protected by Mexican and international intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you — only a license to use the App. Your stays, addresses, and access codes remain your property; the Developer has no access to them.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without any express or implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, security, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any financial, personal, property, or access loss arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to: being locked out of a rental, losing stored codes after uninstalling the App, sharing your device with someone who reads your codes, or relying on an inaccurate address pin. The Developer's aggregate liability shall not exceed USD $50.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the Developer harmless from any claims arising from: (a) your improper use of the App, (b) storing or sharing access codes you are not authorized to possess, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of third-party rights, including the rights of your host or the property owner.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms. You may terminate this license at any time by uninstalling the App. Uninstalling deletes all locally stored data permanently.

15. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be published at this URL, along with the date of the update. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes your acceptance. Material changes will also be announced inside the App.

16. Relationship with Apple

Apple Inc. is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of this agreement and may enforce its terms against you. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's Standard EULA, the terms more restrictive and applicable to Apple under the App Store Review Guidelines shall prevail.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Mexico City, and both parties expressly waive any other jurisdiction that might otherwise apply based on current or future domicile.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
