Nomad Key was born outside a Lisbon apartment, at midnight, in the rain.
I had just landed, I was carrying everything I owned in two bags, and the door code was somewhere in a 47-message host chat about check-in time, towels, and the trash schedule. I scrolled. I scrolled some more. The phone's screen kept dimming. The rain didn't.
I thought: the host already told me. Why am I hunting for it like a treasure? So I built Nomad Key — a tiny pocket for the address and the two codes that actually matter, with a widget on the Home Screen so you stop scrolling and start opening doors.
One tap from your Home Screen
Add the Nomad Key widget. Your active stay's address and access codes appear in big, readable type — no app to open, no chat to scroll.
Two codes per stay, the ones you'll actually use
Building door and lockbox. Front gate and apartment. Whatever the host gave you — label them yourself.
Switch stays in a tap
Land in a new city, open Nomad Key, mark the new stay as active. The widget updates instantly.
See the address on the map
Tap "Find on map" to drop a pin in Apple Maps. The only time Nomad Key touches the internet, and only on your command.
Tap to copy any code
Reading 8 digits from a tiny keypad in the dark is no fun. Tap, paste, you're in.
Your codes stay with you
Zero servers. Zero cloud. Zero accounts. Everything lives on your iPhone, in your iPhone, end of story.
100% free. Forever.
Nomad Key has no subscription, no In-App Purchases, no ads, no paywall. You download it, you use it, you keep it. If you ever want to support the work, email me — that's enough.
