How to use Multi Currency

Convert between currencies
  1. Open the App
  2. Tap the "master" currency field (the first row in the list)
  3. Type an amount — every other currency updates in real time
  4. Drag any row to reorder your favorites
Add or remove currencies
  1. Tap the + button in the top corner
  2. Search by currency name or ISO code (e.g. USD, MXN, EUR)
  3. Tap the currency to add it
  4. To remove it: swipe left on the row and tap Delete
Use the inline calculator

You can type math expressions directly in the master row:

Once confirmed, the expression is evaluated and automatically converted into every currency.

Use Home Screen widgets
  1. Long-press an empty space on your iOS Home Screen
  2. Tap the + button in the top-left corner
  3. Search for Multi Currency
  4. Choose the size: small, medium, or large
  5. Long-press the widget and tap Edit Widget to configure it
Offline mode

Multi Currency works without an internet connection using its local rate cache (SwiftData). The latest fetched rate stays available until you reconnect. Once the App detects connectivity again, it refreshes silently in the background.

Premium purchases

What does Premium include?

Premium is available in two flavors — pick whichever you prefer. Both unlock the exact same features, both are Family Sharing compatible.

Monthly vs Lifetime — which one should I pick?

Multi Currency offers two Premium options:

Both share equally well with Apple Family Sharing.

How to purchase Premium
  1. Open the App
  2. Go to Settings → Premium
  3. Tap either Monthly Plan or Lifetime
  4. Confirm the purchase with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password
How to cancel your monthly subscription

Only the Monthly Traveler Plan needs canceling — the Lifetime is a one-time purchase with nothing to cancel.

Cancellation is handled directly through your Apple ID, not inside the App (Apple requires this):

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select Multi Currency
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

You'll keep Premium access until the end of your paid period. After that, the App reverts to free mode.

I bought Lifetime — can I cancel it?

No, and you don't need to. The Traveler Lifetime is a non-consumable, one-time purchase. There is no subscription to cancel, no auto-renewal, no recurring charge. Once you pay $29.00 USD you keep Premium on every device signed in with your Apple ID — forever.

If you regret the purchase within the window allowed by Apple's refund policy, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Restore purchases

Works for both the monthly subscription and the lifetime purchase. Use it when you switch devices or reinstall the App:

  1. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase
  2. Open the App → Settings → Premium
  3. Tap Restore Purchases

The system checks with Apple and reactivates your Premium access — either the active subscription or the lifetime entitlement.

Request a refund

Refunds are handled directly by Apple, not by the Developer:

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Find the Multi Currency transaction
  4. Select "Request a refund" and describe the reason

Approval is at Apple's sole discretion.

Family Sharing

Both Premium options (Monthly and Lifetime) can be shared with your Apple Family group at no extra cost:

  1. Make sure Family Sharing is enabled: Settings → [your name] → Family Sharing
  2. Each family member downloads Multi Currency using their own Apple ID
  3. Premium activates automatically for every member

Manage your payment method

Your payment method is managed by Apple. To update your card, billing address, or default payment method:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Payment & Shipping
  4. Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password

Frequently asked questions

Do you store my data on any server?

No. Everything the App handles (your favorite currencies, history, settings) lives exclusively on your device. We have no backend and no user accounts. If you uninstall the App, all data is erased with it. See our Privacy Policy.

Are the exchange rates real-time?

We query 3 public APIs in cascade (open.er-api.com, frankfurter.app, exchangerate.host). Rates refresh multiple times per day depending on the provider. These are not tick-by-tick market rates — they are indicative reference rates, not live bank quotes.

Can I use these rates for banking transactions?

No. Multi Currency is not a financial service. The rates shown are indicative and may differ significantly from those offered by banks, exchange offices, or card issuers. For any important financial decision, please consult your financial institution.

Why can't I find some exotic currencies?

The catalog depends on the public APIs we query. If a currency is missing, it's likely not available in any of the 3 sources. Email us at christian@irack.mx and we'll look into adding it.

Which devices are supported?

Multi Currency requires iOS 18.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone. Widgets run on iOS 18+.

Is there an iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch version?

Multi Currency is currently optimized for iPhone. iPad and Mac versions (via Catalyst / Apple Silicon) are on the roadmap. Apple Watch support will be evaluated based on demand.
