How to use Blood Pressure Tracker

Log a blood pressure reading
  1. Open the App
  2. Tap the + button
  3. Enter your systolic (upper number) and diastolic (lower number) readings
  4. Enter your pulse (heart rate)
  5. Optionally add a note (e.g. "after walking", "morning medication")
  6. Tap Save

The reading is saved to the App and, if you have granted permission, also written to Apple Health.

View your history and trends
  1. Open the App — the main screen shows your most recent readings in a list
  2. Tap the Chart tab to see a timeline of your systolic and diastolic values
  3. Use the date filter to narrow the view to a specific range (7 days, 30 days, 3 months, or custom)
Edit or delete a reading
  1. Go to the History list
  2. Tap on the reading you want to edit
  3. Make your changes and tap Save
  4. To delete: swipe left on the reading and tap Delete, or open the reading and tap the trash icon

Deleting a reading from the App does not automatically delete it from Apple Health. To remove it from Apple Health as well, open the Health app and delete the corresponding record there.

Set up Apple Health sync
  1. The first time you open the App, it will ask for permission to read and write to Apple Health
  2. Tap Allow for both read and write access
  3. If you declined initially, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Blood Pressure Tracker and enable the permissions

Once enabled, every new reading you save in the App is automatically written to Apple Health. Your cardiologist or doctor can request an export directly from the Health app.

Set up reminders
  1. Open the App → Settings
  2. Tap Reminders
  3. Enable the reminder toggle and choose your preferred times (e.g. 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.)
  4. Grant notification permission when iOS asks

Reminders are local to your device — no server sends them. You can disable them anytime in Settings → Notifications → Blood Pressure Tracker.

Export data for your doctor
  1. Open the App → Settings → Export
  2. Choose the date range you want to export
  3. Select the format: PDF (readable report) or CSV (spreadsheet)
  4. Tap Export and choose how to share it (AirDrop, Mail, Messages, or save to Files)

The export file is generated entirely on your device and is not uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Do you store my health data on any server?

No. Everything — your blood pressure readings, timestamps, notes, and settings — lives exclusively on your device using SwiftData. We have no backend, no user accounts, and no servers that receive your data. If you uninstall the App, all local data is erased. See our Privacy Policy.

How much does the app cost?

Blood Pressure Tracker is free. No subscription, no In-App Purchases, no ads. All current and future updates are free. If you delete and reinstall the App, re-download it from the App Store at no extra cost using the same Apple ID.

Is this app a medical device?

No. Blood Pressure Tracker is a personal wellness and tracking tool. It is not a medical device, it is not cleared by the FDA or any equivalent authority, and it does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any disease. Always consult a qualified physician for medical advice and for interpretation of your blood pressure readings.

Can my doctor access my readings directly?

Not directly through the App. However, if you have Apple Health sync enabled, your doctor can request an export from the Apple Health app — your blood pressure and pulse readings appear there automatically. You can also use the in-app Export feature to generate a PDF or CSV and share it via email or AirDrop before an appointment.

What does the App use Apple Health for?

With your permission, the App reads from and writes to Apple Health using the HealthKit framework. Specifically:

You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Blood Pressure Tracker.

What happens to my data if I delete the App?

The SwiftData local database is deleted when you uninstall the App — all readings, notes, and settings are gone. Data already written to Apple Health is not deleted automatically; to remove it, open the Apple Health app, find the blood pressure records, and delete them there.

Does the App back up my data?

The App's local SwiftData database is included in your standard iCloud Backup (if you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone). This means your readings will be restored if you set up a new iPhone from your backup. This is not a server backup — it is Apple's standard device backup, governed by Apple's terms.

Which devices are supported?

Blood Pressure Tracker requires iOS 17.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone only. The App is not available for iPad.
