This agreement is entered into between you (the end user) and Ingeniería.dev, operated by Christian Irack, with its registered address at Av. Javier Barros Sierra 495, Santa Fe Lomas de Santa Fe Zedec Santa Fé, Álvaro Obregón 01219, Mexico City, CDMX, Mexico. Contact: [email protected].
Clockwork Sky (hereinafter, "Clockwork Sky" or "the App") is an iPhone app that shows a 3D brass mechanical orrery: every planet from Mercury to Neptune and the Moon, placed where they are today, computed on the iPhone with no internet connection. A time crank moves the orrery through time; planet cards describe each body; "Tonight" shows which planets are visible from your city, using your approximate location only if you allow it or a city you pick from a built-in list; a list of upcoming sky events can remind you with optional local notifications; "your birth sky" shows the planets on a date you choose as a card you can save and share; a real-scale view shows true distances; and the orrery can be finished in brass or in premium materials. The App is an educational astronomy tool and is not astrology. It is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese (Brazil), and requires no account or login.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Clockwork Sky on iOS devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and to Apple's Standard EULA.
Clockwork Sky is a free download. The free version includes the live orrery, planet cards, Tonight, the next upcoming sky events, the real-scale view, birth-sky cards (with a small "Clockwork Sky" watermark) and the brass finish. In the free version the time crank travels up to one year before or after today. There is no advertising, no subscription, and no time limit.
Complete Observatory (product ID dev.ingenieria.clockworksky.observatory) is an optional, non-consumable In-App Purchase for a one-time price of $3.99 USD (pricing may vary per country according to the Apple App Store price tiers). It lets the time crank travel across centuries, opens the full year of sky events with optional alerts, adds three premium materials — silver and nacre, verdigris bronze and 8-bit pixel — and removes the watermark from birth-sky cards. Pay once, keep forever: it does not expire and does not renew.
The purchase is processed exclusively by Apple through your Apple ID using StoreKit. Apple acts as the payment processor; we never have access to your payment card, billing address, or any other payment data. The price is always shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
Because Complete Observatory is a one-time transaction, there is nothing to cancel. You will not be billed again. The App offers no subscriptions and has no billing cycle.
If you reinstall the App, or install it on another iPhone signed into the same Apple ID, tap Restore Purchases on the Complete Observatory screen. The App asks Apple for your purchase and unlocks its features again at no cost.
Complete Observatory supports Family Sharing. If you have Family Sharing enabled on your Apple ID, members of your family group can use it on their own iPhone without paying again. Configure Family Sharing in Settings → [your name] → Family Sharing or follow Apple's guide: support.apple.com/en-us/108380.
All refunds are handled by Apple, not by the Developer. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, locate the Clockwork Sky purchase, and follow the refund flow. Apple applies its own refund policies. If a refund is granted, the Complete Observatory features are locked again: the orrery returns to brass, the time crank returns to one year either way, and new birth-sky cards carry the watermark. Your saved birth skies and other preferences are kept.
Your Apple ID payment method is managed at account.apple.com or in Settings → [your name] → Payment & Shipping. Apple's guide: support.apple.com/en-us/118429.
Clockwork Sky does not require you to create an account or sign up. The App works immediately after installation without any login, email, or personal identifier. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID, not to an account with us.
See our Privacy Policy. In short: your preferences and saved birth skies live on your device; your approximate location, only if you allow it, is used on your iPhone to compute tonight's sky and is never stored on a server or sent to us; alerts are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone; purchases are processed by Apple; and the App measures how it is used with our own first-party analytics, which is never linked to your identity.
Clockwork Sky is an educational and decorative astronomy app for personal use. Positions, rise and set times and event dates are calculated on your iPhone from published astronomical tables and methods. They are close to the real sky, but they are approximate: they are most precise for dates between 1800 and 2050 and become increasingly approximate further from that range. The compressed scale of the orrery is a model, not a map. Do not use the App for navigation, for pointing instruments that need precise coordinates, or for any safety-critical purpose.
Never look at the Sun directly or through binoculars, a camera or a telescope without proper certified solar filters, including during a partial eclipse. The App tells you when an eclipse happens; it does not protect your eyes.
The App is not astrology and makes no predictions about people, personality or events. Birth-sky cards show only where the planets were on the date you choose.
Sky-event alerts are local notifications delivered by iOS. They may be delayed, silenced or not shown — for example by a Focus mode, by Low Power Mode, or if notifications are turned off — and the visibility of an event depends on the weather and your surroundings. The Developer is not responsible for a missed event.
Clockwork Sky, its code, design, interface, 3D models, icon, text, and brand are the property of Ingeniería.dev and are protected by Mexican and international intellectual property laws. Third-party content included in the App remains the property of its authors and is used under its own license: planet textures by Solar System Scope (CC BY 4.0), city data from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0), an HDRI by Poly Haven (CC0) and eclipse predictions by Fred Espenak, NASA's GSFC (public domain). These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you — only a license to use the App.
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without any express or implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, astronomical accuracy, or uninterrupted operation, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any loss arising from your use of or inability to use the App. The Developer's aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App and its In-App Purchase, or USD $50, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the laws of your country of residence.
You agree to indemnify and hold the Developer harmless from any claims arising from: (a) your use of the App in violation of these Terms, or (b) your violation of third-party rights.
We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms. You may terminate this license at any time by uninstalling the App. Uninstalling does not cancel or refund a completed purchase; it stays on your Apple ID and can be restored. Uninstalling does delete your saved birth skies, which exist only on your device.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be published at this URL, along with the date of the update. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes your acceptance. Material changes will also be announced inside the App.
Apple Inc. is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the App or its content. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's Standard EULA, the terms more restrictive and applicable to Apple under the App Store Review Guidelines shall prevail.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Mexico City, and both parties expressly waive any other jurisdiction that might otherwise apply based on current or future domicile, to the extent permitted by the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
