The story behind Clockwork Sky

For three centuries, the orrery has been the most beautiful way to hold the solar system in your hands.

Brass arms, walnut bases and gears turned by hand in the studies of curious people. Clockwork Sky brings that instrument to your desk and makes it exact: every arm points where its planet really is today, and the crank moves real time, so the eclipses and conjunctions you reach are the ones the sky will actually show.

It is astronomy, not astrology — no horoscopes, just the sky as it is. No account, no ads, and nothing to sign up for. Made in Mexico by Christian Irack at Ingeniería.dev.

Free to download — one optional purchase, no subscriptions

Clockwork Sky downloads at no cost with the live orrery, planet cards, Tonight, sky events and alerts, real scale, the birth-sky card and the brass finish; the time crank travels up to one year either way. Complete Observatory — $3.99 USD, one-time (a non-consumable In-App Purchase) lets the crank travel across centuries, adds three premium materials — silver and nacre, verdigris bronze and 8-bit pixel — and removes the watermark from birth-sky cards. Pay once, keep forever. No subscriptions, no ads.

The purchase is handled by Apple through your Apple ID, can be restored at any time with Restore Purchases, and supports Family Sharing. Full details in the Terms and Support pages.
