Cartagena is an iOS application for travelers visiting Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. It provides hand-picked listings across five categories: places to visit (the walled city, Getsemaní, Bocagrande, plazas, viewpoints, beaches and the nearby islands), restaurants, hostels, bars and cafés — each one located on a map and, where relevant, tied to the places closest to it. The App works offline after an initial content sync, is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese (Brazil), and requires no account or login.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Cartagena on iOS devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and to Apple's Standard EULA.
cartagena.ingenieria.dev)Cartagena is free. The App contains no In-App Purchases, no subscriptions, no advertising, and no paid content. There is nothing to buy, nothing to cancel, and nothing to restore.
Cartagena does not require you to create an account or sign up. The App works immediately after installation without any login, email, or personal identifier.
See our Privacy Policy. In short: your favorites, trip plan and cached content live on your device; we collect no personal information; and your location is never sent to any server.
The places, restaurants, hostels, bars, cafés, descriptions, photos, ratings, opening hours, price levels and other information provided through the App are curated manually and compiled from publicly available sources. We cannot guarantee that the content is always current, complete, or accurate. Specifically:
Always verify critical travel information through official local sources before setting out. The Developer is not responsible for any inconvenience, cost, injury, or loss arising from reliance on content provided by the App.
Cartagena de Indias, like any destination, has areas and hours that require ordinary traveler caution. The inclusion of a place in the App is not a statement that it is safe at any given time, for any given person. Use your own judgment, follow local authorities' guidance, and take the same precautions you would in any unfamiliar city. The Developer assumes no responsibility for your personal safety or for decisions you make about where and when to travel.
When you enable nearby alerts, the App registers local geofences with iOS. These are managed entirely on-device by the operating system. You may disable the feature at any time from within the App, or withdraw location permission from iOS Settings → Cartagena → Location. The Developer is not responsible for missed alerts caused by device settings, iOS restrictions, battery-saving modes, or lack of coverage.
Tapping "Open in Apple Maps," "Open in Google Maps," or any web or social search button launches a third-party application or website. The Developer is not responsible for data handling, routing errors, search results, or any other action performed by those third parties. Their use is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Cartagena, its code, design, interface, text, and brand are the property of Ingeniería.dev and are protected by Mexican and international intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you — only a license to use the App. Photographs and descriptive content sourced from third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without any express or implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, content accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. Travel involves inherent risks; the Developer does not assume any responsibility for your travel decisions or their outcomes.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any personal, financial, or property loss arising from your use of or inability to use the App, or from any travel decision made based on its content. The Developer's aggregate liability shall not exceed USD $50.
You agree to indemnify and hold the Developer harmless from any claims arising from: (a) your use of the App in violation of these Terms, (b) your violation of third-party rights, or (c) any travel or personal decisions made based on the App's content.
We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms. You may terminate this license at any time by uninstalling the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be published at this URL, along with the date of the update. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes your acceptance. Material changes will also be announced inside the App.
Apple Inc. is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the App or its content. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's Standard EULA, the terms more restrictive and applicable to Apple under the App Store Review Guidelines shall prevail.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Mexico City, and both parties expressly waive any other jurisdiction that might otherwise apply based on current or future domicile.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
