We reply within 48 business hours, Monday through Friday (Mexico City time). You can write in Spanish, English or Portuguese.
Open the Explore tab. The map at the top shows everything at once, and the chips above it filter it by category: Must-sees, Photo spots, Adventures, Restaurants, Cafés, Tapas & vermut, Latin flavor and Where to stay. Below the map there is one carousel per category; tap a category header to open its full list, or tap any card to see its description, photos, review and location.
Pick the Latin flavor category on the Explore tab. It gathers Latin American kitchens in the city — for the day you miss home — with the walking distance already calculated if you allowed location access.
Open the This week tab to see concerts, festivals and markets happening in Barcelona over the next seven days. This tab needs an internet connection to refresh; the rest of the guide works offline.
On the Explore tab, tap the Practical guide card above the carousels. It covers entering Spain (Schengen), money and tipping, Spanish hours, getting around (metro and T-casual), safety and pickpockets, rules and fines, basic Catalan, phone and data, health, plugs and voltage, weather and Latin American consulates in Barcelona. The guide is built into the App, so it works with no connection — at the airport included.
Favorites are stored locally on your iPhone — no account and no internet connection required to view them.
Your plan lives on your device and is never uploaded anywhere.
Open the App once with an internet connection and it downloads the guide to your iPhone. Keep offline (Profile → Offline mode) is on by default: it also downloads every photo and, each time you open the App, fills in anything missing. After that the App keeps working with no signal — handy when roaming runs out or underground in the metro.
Turn-by-turn directions still require your maps app to have offline maps downloaded for Barcelona.
Once enabled, the App notifies you when you are about 400 m from a hand-picked place, even if the App is closed. Each place alerts you at most twice, with at least 24 hours between alerts, and alerts are silenced during quiet hours (10 p.m. to 7 a.m.).
To turn it off: Profile → Nearby place alerts → toggle off. Or open iOS Settings → Barcelona → Location and choose "While Using the App" or "Never."
Open any place or restaurant and tap Open in Apple Maps or Open in Google Maps. The App opens your chosen maps app with the destination already filled in.
Go to Profile → Language and choose Español, English, or Português (Brasil). The change applies immediately across the whole App. On first launch, the App follows your iPhone's system language automatically.
Yes. After the first sync, places, restaurants, reviews and photos are stored on your device, and the practical guide is built into the App. You can browse, search, open your favorites and your plan, and read the guide with no connection. Only the This week agenda needs a connection to refresh, and turn-by-turn directions require your maps app to have offline maps for Barcelona.
No. Barcelona para Latinos works completely without registration. No email, no password, no sign-in. Open the App and start exploring.
No. Barcelona para Latinos is free — no In-App Purchases, no subscription, no ads, no paywall, forever.
Never. Your location is used only on your device — to sort places by distance, to calculate walking and driving times, and to trigger local alerts. It is never transmitted to our server, to our analytics, or to any third party; no request the App makes contains coordinates. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Your personal content, no. Your favorites, My Plan, alert history and preferences are stored only on your iPhone. The App downloads the catalog from our server and, to help us improve it, sends anonymous usage and diagnostics data to our own first-party analytics service. That data is never linked to your identity — there is no account and no user profile. See our Privacy Policy.
Which screens and sections are used (for example, whether the practical guide or the Latin flavor category gets opened), how often directions are opened, App and iOS versions, approximate country and city, and crash and performance reports. It runs on our own server, it is never sold or shared, it is never used for advertising, and it is kept for up to 13 months. It never includes your name, email, GPS location, favorites or plan. To ask for deletion, email [email protected].
Go to the Profile tab and toggle Nearby place alerts off. Alternatively, open iOS Settings → Barcelona → Location and set the permission to "While Using the App" or "Never." The App stops registering geofences immediately.
No. The App does not poll your location in the background. It registers geofences with iOS and the operating system wakes the App only when you actually cross one — the same low-power mechanism Apple uses for its own location reminders.

No. It is general travel information to help you prepare, not legal, immigration, medical or financial advice. Entry requirements, fares, fines and consulate details can change at any time — always confirm them with official sources, such as the Spanish consulate in your country, before you travel.
Places change — restaurants close, hours shift, prices go up. If you spot something wrong, email [email protected] with the name of the place and what looks incorrect. We verify and update it. For anything safety-critical, always check official local sources first.
Yes — every suggestion gets reviewed. Email [email protected] with the name, where it is, and why it deserves to be in the App. Places run by Latin Americans in Barcelona are especially welcome.
Of course. Email [email protected] and tell us what would make your trip easier. Every idea is read, and the most requested ones shape the next updates.
Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later. The App is iPhone-only; iPad is not supported at this time.
Email [email protected] and include:
Uninstall the App. Everything it stored on your device — favorites, My Plan, cached content, alert history and the random installation identifier — is permanently removed. There is no account to close. Anonymous analytics data is deleted automatically after 13 months, or sooner if you ask us by email.
Estimated response time: 48 business hours (Monday through Friday, Mexico City time).
